Brazil Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Bovespa Up 1.06%

Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumption and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.06% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Raia Drogasil SA, which rose 6.06% or 1.06 points to trade at 18.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Magazine Luiza SA added 5.31% or 0.57 points to end at 11.31 and Sendas Distribuidora SA was up 4.55% or 0.46 points to 10.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were C A Modas SA, which fell 2.44% or 0.45 points to trade at 17.96 at the close. Marfrig Alimentos SA declined 2.18% or 0.60 points to end at 26.92 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica was down 2.17% or 0.09 points to 4.06.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 621 to 336 and 60 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.90% to 25.86.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.85% or 31.60 to $3,693.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.73% or 0.47 to hit $64.05 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 7.56% or 30.95 to trade at $378.40 .
USD/BRL was up 0.09% to 5.30, while EUR/BRL fell 0.38% to 6.26.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 96.68. (AI)
