Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Public Utilities and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA, which rose 6.96% or 1.11 points to trade at 17.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Magazine Luiza SA added 6.51% or 0.62 points to end at 10.12 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio was up 6.45% or 0.37 points to 6.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Raizen SA Preferred, which fell 5.45% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.52 at the close. Braskem SA declined 4.47% or 0.55 points to end at 11.85 and Direcional Engenharia SA was down 3.84% or 0.58 points to 14.53.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 568 to 401 and 43 ended unchanged.
Shares in Raizen SA Preferred fell to all time lows; losing 5.45% or 0.03 to 0.52.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.02% to 39.43.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.95% or 99.60 to $5,203.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 8.50% or 8.06 to hit $86.71 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.74% or 2.20 to trade at $294.70.
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.06% to 5.16, while EUR/BRL fell 1.20% to 5.99.
