Brazil Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; Bovespa Down 1.57%

  • Top gainers included Minerva (+1.21%), Petroreconcavo (+0.89%), and BB Seguridade (+0.79%).
  • Major losers were MRV Engenharia (-12.12%), Razen Preferred (-7.22%), and Grupo Vamos (-6.54%), both hitting all-time lows.

Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.57% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Minerva SA/Brazil, which rose 1.21% or 0.08 points to trade at 6.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroreconcavo SA added 0.89% or 0.11 points to end at 12.46 and BB Seguridade Participacoes SA was up 0.79% or 0.26 points to 33.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA, which fell 12.12% or 0.87 points to trade at 6.31 at the close. Raizen SA Preferred declined 7.22% or 0.07 points to end at 0.90 and Grupo Vamos SA was down 6.54% or 0.21 points to 3.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 639 to 329 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Raizen SA Preferred fell to all time lows; down 7.22% or 0.07 to 0.90. Shares in Grupo Vamos SA fell to all time lows; falling 6.54% or 0.21 to 3.00.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.78% to 25.73.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.73% or 29.17 to $4,005.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.55% or 0.34 to hit $62.03 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.64% or 6.25 to trade at $375.10.
USD/BRL was up 0.78% to 5.35, while EUR/BRL rose 0.31% to 6.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 98.33. (AI)
