15th May 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index began Thursday's session with a marginal gain of 3 points, or 0.01%, settling at 23,644. The China Enterprises Index slipped 13 points, or 0.16%, to 8,579, while the Technology Index fell 7 points, or 0.14%, to 5,374.
Technology stocks exhibited mixed performance following Tencent's earnings report, which saw the company's shares rise by 2%. Alibaba also advanced 0.7%, while Meituan declined by 1%, and Xiaomi remained unchanged. JD.com registered a sharper drop of 2.4%, with Kuaishou slipping 0.5%.
The financial sector also presented a divided picture. HSBC Holdings fell 1.4%, while AIA Group surged 3.9%. Ping An Insurance edged up 0.2%, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing remained flat.
