India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.58%

Investing.com - India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Metals, Power and Auto sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 lost 0.58%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS: BJFN ), which rose 4.52% or 130.25 points to trade at 3002.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS: EICH ) added 4.23% or 814.10 points to end at 19997.75 and UPL Ltd (NS: UPLL ) was up 1.56% or 14.90 points to 969.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS: YESB ), which fell 8.66% or 13.50 points to trade at 142.95 at the close. Tata Motors Ltd (NS: TAMO ) declined 7.48% or 13.80 points to end at 169.45 and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE) was down 6.84% or 23.70 points to 322.35.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO: BJFN ) which rose 4.11% to 3002.55, ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which was up 1.05% to settle at 297.10 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO: KTKM ) which gained 0.68% to close at 1394.25.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO: YESB ) which was down 8.01% to 143.65 in late trade, Tata Motors Ltd (BO: TAMO ) which lost 8.00% to settle at 169.60 and Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which was down 6.37% to 80.85 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1007 to 591 and 53 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1500 fell and 941 advanced, while 159 ended unchanged.
Shares in Yes Bank Ltd (NS: YESB ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 8.66% or 13.50 to 142.95. Shares in Yes Bank Ltd (BO: YESB ) fell to 3-years lows; down 8.01% or 12.50 to 143.65.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 5.62% to 28.6575 a new 3-years high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.20% or 2.55 to $1298.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.33% or 0.82 to hit $60.96 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.64 to trade at $70.60 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.03% to 70.331, while EUR/INR fell 0.07% to 78.7700.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 97.338.
