Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rises 0.7% to 38485.39 in early trade. U.S. and China agreed on a framework to get trade truce back on track and ease tensions between the world's two largest economies.
Representatives from the two countries said the framework would essentially restore a pact they agreed to in Switzerland last month, a deal that saw both sides lower tariffs.
Among the best performers on the benchmark index, Shiseido rises 4.6%, OBIC adds 3.7%, and Lasertec is 3.55% higher. USD/JPY is at 144.84, compared with 144.89 in late New York trading on Tuesday.
