Chinese Shares Down Amid Market Caution Following Recent Trade Deal; Fusion New Material Falls 5%

(MT Newswires) -- Chinese shares were down Tuesday, with investors remaining cautious as they weighed the recent trade deal between the U.S. and China.
The Shanghai Composite Index, the main gauge of Chinese stocks, declined 0.4% to 3,960,19. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 1.7% to 13,175.22.
Under the recent agreement, China will halt its rare earth export controls, boost U.S. farm exports, and curb fentanyl flows. Both nations will also suspend retaliatory tariffs and trade restrictions, according to the fact sheet published by the White House.
Following the truce, U.S. President Donald Trump said access to the most advanced Nvidia chips will be kept to U.S. companies, excluding China and other countries, Yahoo Finance reported.
In company news, Changzhou Fusion New Material (SHA:688503) plans to list H-shares on the Hong Kong bourse. Shares of the advanced materials manufacturer closed 5% lower on Tuesday.
