11th September 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened 212 points lower, or 0.81%, at 25,987 points, while the National Enterprises Index declined by 95 points, or 1.02%, to 9,232 points. The Technology Index also fell, down 57 points, or 0.97%, to 5,845 points.
Technology stocks saw a downward trend, with Tencent slipping 0.1%, Alibaba down 1.3%, Meituan declining by 1.4%, Xiaomi dropping 0.6%, JD.com falling 1.1%, and Kuaishou decreasing by 0.9%.
In the financial sector, movements were mixed: HSBC Holdings rose by 0.2%, AIA remained unchanged, while Ping An fell by 0.8% and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange also dropped by 0.8%.
Biotech and pharmaceutical stocks faced significant selling pressure, with WuXi Biologics falling by 6.7%, Hansoh Pharmaceutical dropping 10.8%, and China National Pharmaceutical Group declining by 12%.
