21st September 2026 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index dipped by 2 points at the open to 24,748 before reversing to trade 80 points, or 0.32 per cent, higher at 24,831. The China Enterprises Index added 28 points, or 0.34 per cent, to 8,253, while the Tech Index rose 29 points, or 0.66 per cent, to 4,434. Market turnover was approximately HK$21.6 billion.
Large-capitalisation technology shares were broadly steady to higher. Tencent Holdings gained 1.8 per cent, Alibaba Group rose 2.4 per cent, Meituan edged up 0.1 per cent, Xiaomi Corporation climbed 1.2 per cent, JD.com advanced 0.9 per cent and Kuaishou inched up 0.1 per cent.
Financials were mixed. HSBC Holdings eased 0.3 per cent, AIA Group rose 0.1 per cent, Ping An Insurance slipped 0.1 per cent and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing added 0.3 per cent.
