26th June 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened down by 129 points, or 0.52%, at 24,345, while the National Enterprises Index fell by 48 points, or 0.55%, to 8,810. The Technology Index dropped 27 points, or 0.51%, to 5,331.
Technology stocks generally declined, with Tencent down 0.1%, Alibaba falling 2.1%, and Meituan decreasing by 1.2%. Xiaomi saw a slight increase of 0.8%, while Kuaishou fell by 0.9%. Financial shares also faced downward pressure, as HSBC Holdings dropped 0.4%, AIA fell 0.6%, and China Ping An decreased by 0.2%. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange also saw a decline of 0.2%.
Three companies that announced share placements experienced softening in their stock prices: ZA Bank Limited dropped 4.3%, SF Express fell by 3%, and Innovent Biologics decreased by 3%.
