Nikkei Falls 2.1% on Continued Concerns About Energy Costs

Japanese stocks are broadly lower as the Middle East conflict raises concerns about higher costs of energy, a shortage of petrochemical products and weaker consumer sentiments.
Fanuc is down 3.3%, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group is 4.2% lower and Kirin Holdings is down 5.4%.
The dollar is at Y157.70, up from Y157.35 as of Tuesday's Tokyo stock market close.
Investors are closely watching developments in Iran and crude oil prices. The Nikkei Stock Average is down 2.1% at 55112.06.
