Investing - Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index gained 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Novatek PJSC , which rose 5.97% or 54.20 points to trade at 962.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosneft PJSC added 5.64% or 17.50 points to end at 327.70 and Tatneft na VD Shashin Pref was up 3.66% or 16.10 points to 456.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VK Company Ltd, which fell 2.38% or 4.00 points to trade at 163.95 at the close. Federal Hydro Generating Company RusHydro PJSC declined 2.13% or 0.01 points to end at 0.28 and Mobil'nye Telesistemy PJSC was down 1.62% or 2.90 points to 175.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 132 to 107 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in VK Company Ltd fell to all time lows; losing 2.38% or 4.00 to 163.95. Shares in Federal Hydro Generating Company RusHydro PJSC fell to 5-year lows; down 2.13% or 0.01 to 0.28. Shares in Mobil'nye Telesistemy PJSC fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.62% or 2.90 to 175.90.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 6.54% to 43.00.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.55% or 105.05 to $4,008.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 9.23% or 6.59 to hit $78.00 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.02 to trade at $83.24 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 78.19, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 87.23.
