16th April 2025 - (Hong Kong) On Wednesday, the Hang Seng Index opened lower by 149 points or 0.7%, standing at 21,316 points. Meanwhile, the H-share index commenced with a 71-point or 0.89% decrease at 7,911 points, and the technology index saw a drop of 72 points or 1.46%, settling at 4,908 points.
Tech stocks faced downward pressure, with Alibaba falling by 2.64%, Meituan by 2.52%, Kuaishou by 2.15%, JD.com by 2.12%, Xiaomi by 1.39%, and Tencent by 1.18%.
In the financial sector, AIA Group witnessed a decline of 0.85%, while HSBC Holdings rose by 1.08%. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange remained stable with no significant change in its position.
