Investing.com - India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Metals and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 1.68%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 1.72%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS: INBK ), which rose 5.52% or 68.45 points to trade at 1308.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS: BRTI ) added 5.23% or 17.85 points to end at 359.40 and ICICI Bank Ltd (NS: ICBK ) was up 4.90% or 20.40 points to 436.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS: YESB ), which fell 5.15% or 2.35 points to trade at 43.25 at the close. Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS: HROM ) declined 2.80% or 75.00 points to end at 2604.35 and Titan Company Ltd (NS: TITN ) was down 2.27% or 28.60 points to 1230.30.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO: INBK ) which rose 5.45% to 1309.50, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO: BRTI ) which was up 5.20% to settle at 359.25 and ICICI Bank Ltd (BO: ICBK ) which gained 4.88% to close at 436.60.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO: YESB ) which was down 5.26% to 43.20 in late trade, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO: HROM ) which lost 2.65% to settle at 2603.80 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO: HCLT ) which was down 2.16% to 1050.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 833 to 736 and 63 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1220 rose and 1180 declined, while 160 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.79% to 17.1550.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 4.25 to $1508.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.82% or 0.43 to hit $53.06 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.49 to trade at $58.73 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.27% to 71.019, while EUR/INR fell 0.04% to 77.9755.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 98.732.
